Making the Invisible, Visible

Whilst we were discussing our ideas, Sue unearthed and shared these amazingly sensitive and oddly intimate images she had taken of one of the vacant properties.

They have a gentle melancholy which we felt encapsulated some of the feelings we had about the nature of the site at the time, but importantly, they also seemed to celebrate something about homes and humanity and warmth. They are complex images in this respect.

The quite Romantic, blurred, 'peep hole' quality of the edges is due to the image being taken through the metal grilles which have been attached to the windows of the property to prevent damage.

It was quickly agreed that these images had a strength, and could be used as the imagery for a projection in order to 'Make the Invisible, Visible'

In this case to bring to light to the often overlooked, but beautiful details of ordinary, day to day life.
